Transaction Details

There is typically only one title. However, in some cases, a property may include multiple lots each with a separate title. And for some condos, a parking stall or storage unit may also have its own separate title.
If you will be unable to meet in person with the lawyer, you may be able to meet via video conference. In such cases, our office will email you the documents that you will need to print, the lawyer will witness you sign the documents over a video meeting, and you will then need to courier the documents back to our office.

Mortgage Registration Basis

In order to avoid underestimating your fees, our practice is to estimate the mortgage registration cost based on the purchase price or full value of the property, because many lenders will require us to register the mortgage for the full value of the property regardless of the actual amount borrowed.

In some cases they may even require that we register your mortgage for more than the value of the property.

The mortgage registration fee is calculated as: $50 + (registered mortgage amount ÷ 1,000) rounded up to the nearest multiple of $5.
