Legal Experience
Bruce Hill currently provides legal services in the areas of personal injury, business incorporation, real estate, and wills and estates. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Brigham Young University, and his law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1988. Following the completion of his law degree he worked with Gordon, Smith & Co. and opened his own law firm with his brother, Ron Hill, in 1993. He now runs the office with Alex Stevens.
Throughout his career, Bruce has worked with numerous clients who have successfully received compensation through his appeals and litigation as a lawyer. “Three Best Rated” ranked Bruce as the best personal injury lawyer in Medicine Hat. Community Involvement
Bruce has resided in Medicine Hat since 1971. Together, he and his wife have raised three daughters and one son. During his years of practice, he has been involved in various community organizations such as the Boy Scout of Canada, SAAMIS Immigration, Crimestoppers Association, and the Cypress/Medicine Hat Progressive Conservation Association.
Legal Experience
Alex Stevens worked at Hill and Hill Law as a Legal Research Student in 2013. Since then he has been running the office with Bruce Hill and Mark Tagg. During law school Alex worked in the Appellate Division at the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Dearborn Michigan. While there, he drafted over 30 legal briefs to the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Michigan. After graduation Alex moved to Peace River, Alberta, and completed his one-year legal article requirement at Mann & Robinson (now Robinson & Associates). While there, he gained valuable courtroom / litigation experience in the areas of family law, criminal law, traffic defence, and child welfare.
Since moving back to Medicine Hat in 2018, he has shifted his focus to real estate, Wills & Estates, and personal injury. Since moving to Medicine Hat, he has assisted many individuals in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, fatal accidents, product liability, and slip and fall.
Education
In addition to his work experience, Alex received law degrees from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law (Canada) and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (United States), and a Bachelor’s degree in finance at Brigham Young University – Idaho. After completing his two Juris Doctor degrees, he completed all the necessary requirements and certifications to practise law in the state of Oregon. This included passing the Uniform Bar Examination and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. His status under the State of Oregon Bar Association is “inactive” in order to give him more time to focus on legal work in Alberta.
Interests
Alex enjoys playing soccer, running, and the guitar. He competed in a half marathon, full marathon, and ultra-marathon. He hopes to run another marathon in a couple of years. In the community you may see him volunteering every month at his church, playing in local tennis tournaments, or coaching his children’s soccer teams.

Legal Experience
Immediately after graduating, Mark articled for JD Law in Red Deer, and then started his own law practice in Airdrie, Alberta doing primarily real estate law as well as wills and estates.
In 2020, Mark was invited to join Hill and Hill. Since coming to Hill and Hill, Mark has enjoyed expanding his practice to other areas of law including personal injury, corporate law, and child welfare .
Education
Mark received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Brigham Young University in 2014, and his law degree at the University of Alberta in 2017.

Ron Hill and Bruce Hill are the co-founders of Hill and Hill Law Office. He worked as a lawyer in Medicine Hat for over 18 years. He retired from practising law in Alberta, and now practises in the United States. Alex Stevens replaced his position. While he moved out of the country, he still enjoys returning to see the city he grew to love.
