Bruce Hill currently provides legal services in the areas of personal injury, business incorporation, real estate, and wills and estates. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Brigham Young University, and his law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1988. Following the completion of his law degree he worked with Gordon, Smith & Co. and opened his own law firm with his brother, Ron Hill, in 1993. He now runs the office with Alex Stevens.
Throughout his career, Bruce has worked with numerous clients who have successfully received compensation through his appeals and litigation as a lawyer. “Three Best Rated” ranked Bruce as the best personal injury lawyer in Medicine Hat. This ranking was based on reputation, reviews, and history of service. If you want Bruce to help you with legal advice in a personal injury matter, feel free to reach out to him.
Bruce has resided in Medicine Hat since 1971. Together, he and his wife have raised three daughters and one son. During his years of practice, he has been involved in various community organizations such as the Boy Scout of Canada, SAAMIS Immigration, Crimestoppers Association, and the Cypress/Medicine Hat Progressive Conservation Association.
Alex Stevens worked at Hill and Hill Law as a Legal Research Student in 2013. Since then he has been running the office along with Bruce Hill and Mark Tagg. During law school Alex worked in the Appellate Division at the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Dearborn Michigan. While there, he drafted over 30 legal briefs to the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Michigan. After graduation Alex moved to Peace River, Alberta, and completed his one-year legal article requirement at Mann & Robinson (now Robinson & Associates). While there, he gained knowledge and experience in the areas of family law, criminal law, traffic defence, wills & estates, and child welfare.
Since moving back to Medicine Hat, he has worked fastidiously to expand his expertise to include real estate and personal injury. He has assisted many individuals in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, fatal accidents, product liability, and slip and fall.
In addition to his work experience, Alex received law degrees from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law (Canada) and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (United States), and a Bachelor’s degree in finance at Brigham Young University – Idaho. After completing his two Juris Doctor degrees, he completed all the necessary requirements and certifications to practise law in the state of Oregon. This included passing the Uniform Bar Examination and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. His status under the State of Oregon Bar Association is “inactive” in order to give him more time to focus on legal work in Alberta.
Alex enjoys playing soccer, running, and the guitar. He competed in a half marathon, full marathon, and ultra-marathon. He hopes to run another marathon in a couple of years. In the community you may see him volunteering every month at his church, playing in local tennis tournaments, or coaching his children’s soccer teams.
